FROM PEACERADIOMAN COMMENTARY ON KEY WEST PIRATE RADIO
I think it was Jimi Hendrix who said, “music is a safe kind of high.” Well, I guess he should know.
But this made me think of how less music and more garbage I listen to today. The other night I had a group of friends over to make a play list for a party and it was a riot.
We listened to hours of music, all genres, from many decades to hone down what fifteen guests wanted to hear.
People jumped up and danced, stories were told about life, celebrations, love, and dying – all at the inspiration of a song.
As the night wore on and we said our goodbyes, I was left to realize that we had just had the party we were planning. The music had brought us together in a fountain of happiness and peace that was unexpected and marvelous.
I tried this in our business and the reactions were similar, a happy spirit brought about by tunes and lyrics. Perhaps, just perhaps, if we all listened a bit more to music, we would be happier and more peaceful.
